The primary purpose of this Barber course is to train the student in the basic manipulative skills, safety judgments, proper work habits, and desirable attitudes necessary to obtain a license and competency in the positions in the beauty industry.
The curriculum of Beyond Beauty Academy is to provide a complete course of study in the barbering culture. Theory instruction includes audio visual aids, lecture platform demonstrations and textbook assignment. In all classes, the principles are tested and perfected by the student in practical classroom activities. Practical training includes supervised performance on clinic patrons and mannequins practice.
Objectives: Upon completion of the course requirements, the determined graduate will be able to:
Project a positive attitude and a sense of personal self-confidence and integrity.
Practice effective communication skills, visual poise and proper grooming.
Respect the need to deliver worthy service for value received in a business relationship.
Perform basic manipulative skills in the area of barbering.
Apply learned theory, technical information, and related matter for sound judgment decisions and procedures.
To ensure continued success, the graduate will continue to learn new and current information related to the barbering industry.
Beyond Beauty Academy does not engage in any type of telecommunications activities away from its principal or main location. Beyond Beauty Academy offers its main studio and campus.
All graduating students will satisfy the requirements for the DPOR certification. Students who have graduated will be able to sit for the state licensure exam.
The total hour requirements must be met by each student in each category in order for the earned hours to be accepted by the state licensing board for examination. The generous portion of miscellaneous hours is to be applied as needed in curriculum-related areas or if the student desires to specialize in a specific area.
